Jan 21, 2023 Sat Service Victory BGC

*This is my note when I listened to one of the services in Victory BGC. This is not a summary but is more on what I got from the preaching. Just a small snippet. I do have a lot of service notes but this just came up first while I was searching what to share here first. Such a good reminder for those who are feeling stuck.

The Healing at the Pool on the Sabbath

Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, in Aramaic called Bethesda, which has five roofed colonnades. In these lay a multitude of invalids—blind, lame, and paralyzed. One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked.
– John 5:2-9

Maybe we can relate to this paralytic. Some of us may be living in disappointment and affliction time and time again. God is telling you now.

Get up! No more self-pity. It’s time to arise. It’s time to stop licking our wounds. We’ve been doing that for the past 2 years. It’s time to step out in faith and say Jesus is with me and I’m gonna make it.

When we understand our redemption, it will always overshadow the pain of our afflictions.

In Christ, the joy of our redemption overshadows the pain of our afflictions.

John 5:14 14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.”

Maybe the miracle/breakthrough that we need is repentance. Maybe this will set the course to where God has prepared for us.
